Prediction Performance Map of Radial Compressor for System Simulation

The expanding of application in renewable energy based on small power plants for remote area is more attractive due to global warming and climate change concern. The power plants can be improved by increasing wide-range operation, variation working fluids, and operating point in turbomachinery components, such as the radial compressor. In the early stage of the design system, it is not easy to find and determine the radial compressor performance map in the open literature. In this paper presents an empirical model and simulations for predicting performance map of the radial compressor. The models were carried out Casey-Robinson method combine with Lüdtke method. Furthermore, the models were implemented in Python and GT-Suite. The result shows a satisfying trend predicting curve performance map for the radial compressor. This adopted model can be support for acceleration in the early stage of the design of power plant base-on renewable energy such as Solar Hybrid micro-Gas Turbine (SHGT) system and Parabolic Dish Solar Collector (PDSC) system.
