View of a Study to Foster Students’ Interest in Data Analysis Using Air Temperature Data

The authors of this paper have been conducting a research to foster students' interest in data analysis. In this paper, the authors review the research in the past, introduce the research in progress, and prospect the research in future. The distinguishing feature of the research is the use of air temperature data. The authors have developed a software application to be used in hands-on classes. The aim of the application is to help the students make chain of discoveries about air temperature. Presently, the authors are developing effective guidance and instructions for the classes. One of the challenges in future is to develop an effective training method to grow capable instructors for the classes.
