Abstract:

In this paper we presented a Photoplethysmo-gram(PPG) compression method based on modified Adaptive Fourier Decomposition(AFD).AFD decomposes the PPG signal by selecting its basis from Takenaka-Malmquist(TM) system according to maximum selection principle and Navanlinna factorization at each decomposition level. The experiment was validated in 12 PPG dataset with intense exercise from IEEE signal processing cup database. This method gives an average compression ratio(CR)=71.92, Percentage Root mean square difference(PRD)=0.088, and Signal to Noise Ratio(SNR)=31.23 at 10th decomposition level.
