Electromagnetic Characteristics Analysis of High Speed Generator with Permanent Magnet Layered Bundling Structure

The high-speed permanent magnet generator (HSPMG) has the advantages of high power density, small volume, etc. It does not need a gear speed increase box to connect directly to high-speed load or a prime mover, thus overcoming many problems such as high failure rate and difficult maintenance of the conventional generator system. HSPMG has obtained more and more extensive applications in many fields. Aiming at the problem that permanent magnets for high-speed permanent magnet generator damage due to high centrifugal force under high-speed rotation and excessive eddy current loss on the rotor surface, this paper proposes a new type of permanent magnet rotor structure with layered lashing. This paper analyzes a 350kW, 30000r/min new rotor of HSPMG and determines the relevant parameters of the generator. The finite element method (FEM) is used to analyze the new rotor of HSPMG with different permanent magnet layers from three aspects of no-load characteristics, rotor surface eddy current loss and rotor strength to get the optimal solution.
