Research on State Acquisition for Electric Arc Furnace Under Multivariate Combination Model

As a highly non-linear and unbalanced load, the electric arc furnace brings great pressure to the harmonic management of grid. Different harmonic characteristics in different operating conditions also increase the difficulty of governance. How to build a simulation model to represent the electrical characteristics of AC arc furnace in different periods has become the focus on current research. In this paper, the time-varying resistance of AC arc furnace is derived the energy balance relation and overlaid with the classical non-linear resistance model. Also, the model of arc length with random variation is added innovatively, a new non-linear time-varying resistance mode is formed. By using MATLAB/simulink software, the voltage current and volt-ampere characteristic, harmonic characteristic during melting and refining are simulated. The simulation results conform to the dynamic characteristics of general arc furnace under different working conditions, so the validity and applicability of model is verified.
