Fundamental Modeling and Conditions for Realizable and Efficient Energy Systems

This paper introduces a fundamental energy-based modeling framework for complex electric energy systems. This approach captures dynamic interactions within such systems in terms of general conservation laws. Instead of effort and flow port variables, each component is characterized using diffemorphically mapped instantaneous real and reactive power quantities. In this paper, this mapping is proven for the first time. This new modeling approach is used to derive novel efficiency and realizability conditions for complex electric energy systems interpretable in engineering terms.
