Combination of a Successive Surface Experiment Design and a Hierarchical Routing Protocol to the Optimization of the System Energy in Wireless Sensor Networks

In wireless sensor networks, the system energy is mainly dissipated according to several tasks carried out by nodes when sensing, treating and communicating information. The latest action is more energy consuming due to many variables such as the number of nodes, the diameter of the network, the location of the base station, the initial system energy, etc. Thus, searching compromise zones of the system energy where variable modalities are optimal is inescapable. In this work, we have attempted an approach based on successive experiment designs. Indeed, this issue has led to a deep investigation of the overall domain explored by the variables, studying perfectly different irregularities that might exist within the study domain and obtaining a good second degree polynomial equation (Taylor approach) with high statistical characteristics that describe greatly energy phenomena. In addition, the hybridization of the present approach with hierarchical routing protocols in WSNs like LEACH algorithm has conducted on one hand, to study and evaluate the routing mechanism and then exhibit its potentialities. On the other hand, the resulted polynomial equation can be a good alternative to the hierarchical routing protocols.
