Double Frequency Filtering by Photonic Comb-Like

In this framework, we show that we can get a filtering of two carrier frequency (two defect modes) by the presence a segment defect in a one-dimensional photonic comb-like structure, this comb-like is composed of a segment, along which dangling side branches are grafted periodically which play the role of the resonator. The band structure with the defect length (geometrical defect) shows that the frequency of the two filters which based on the defect modes is decreased with the increase of the defect length with opposite behavior of their transmission and quality factor. The band structure with the presence of defect length and permittivity dielectric of defect (geometrical and material defect) shows that the transmission, the reduced frequency, and the quality factor Q of one of these two filters varies slightly with the variation of the relative permittivity of the defect, unlike for the other filter.
