Characterestics Analysis of Wireless Power Transfer System for Electric Vehicle Charging Applications

This paper presents a base for understanding and analyzing the behavior of a typical wireless power transfer (WPT) circuit for electric vehicle battery charging applications. A critical analysis of some circuit characteristics is given. Firstly, the phase shift angle technique used to generate the control signals of the inverter is described and the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of the produced output AC voltage is analyzed. Secondly, the static and dynamic behavior of the load voltage regarding the phase shift angle is derived. Finally, simulation results are performed to validate the theoretical results.
