Design and Implementation of Partial M-Type Zero Voltage Resonant Circuit Interleaved Bidirectional DC-DC Converter (Energy Storage and Load Sharing)

Today the development of battery charging technology on BES (Battery Emergency Supply) is increasing rapidly. A wide range of power converters are used either buck converter, boost converter, buck boost converter, ZETA converter, CUK converter and so on. The technology development is done to produce the battery charger as efficiently as possible. However, the use of these converters can only be used for battery charging only while for load sharing still requires a converter again so that the resulting voltage is constant. In addition some converters still generate losses on the switching process. Bidirectional DC-DC Converter is an appropriate topology to be used as battery charging and load sharing converter with automatic switching using automatic switch. To improve efficiency, Bidirectional DC-DC Converter uses an interleaved topology that connects in parallel two similar topologies. In addition to avoiding the occurrence of spikes during switching then this converter also uses ZVRC circuit (Zero Voltage Resonant Circuit) M-Type. Voltage source used is supply from PLN that is equal to 220 VAC-50 Hz. The voltage is lowered and rectified using a transformer and also a rectifier to 24 VDC then down again using interleaved buck mode. The magnitude of the battery input voltage will be adjusted based on the SOC (State Of Charge) battery used. The output voltage to supply the BES (Battery Emergency Supply) load is 24 VDC and obtained from the interleaved boost mode output.
