Cyclic Reports Modulation Control Strategy for a Five Cells Inverter

Multi-cell converters have recently found many applications such as machines control, renewable energies, active filtering and many others. This converter reduces voltage stresses between all cells, which results in lower transmission losses and offers a better harmonic content. This paper proposes a cyclic reports modulation control for a five cells inverter to maintain the floating capacitor voltages to their references and improve the output current waveform. In order to demonstrate the great advantages of the proposed controller it will be compared with the pulse width modulation control.
