A Modified Round-Robin Load Balancing Algorithm Based on Content of Request

Cluster web servers emerged as a reliable and leading resource in internet infrastructure with the growing demands for web-based applications. The key point is to increase utilization of cluster web servers through an effective and fair load balancing strategy. In this paper, we proposed a new load balancing algorithm, which considers the load and performance information of nodes and the type of request to solve the problem of uneven distribution of load in cluster servers. Compared the common Round-Robin algorithm, the discussed method achieves a relatively optimum load balancing result.
