Powering future network architectures

Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and 5G future access scenarios will be characterized by a high-density of "small cells" with high reliability requirements; it is reasonable to imagine a small cell density that is 10 times the current macro cell one with a cell covering range between 0,1 and 0,3 km. Availability of powering sources will become more and more an issue and new approaches to power distribution will be necessary.
