Fault-tolerent Control strategy for dc-dc converter in Power Wind conversion System

The reliability of operation of static converters in power wind conversions systems (PWCS) is currently among the most solicited subjects whose objective is to ensure the continuity of electrical energy production. This paper presents the fault tolerant control in a (PWCS) based on a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) and a three-level boost converter (TLBC). Without a fault, the wind system is controlled for maximum power operation (MPO) and capacitor voltage balancing. Parallel setting of a power switches is proposed to guarantee continuity of operation of dc to dc converter in normal mode when a single switch in open circuit. In the case of a fault occurring simultaneously in several power switches (two or more than two switches), a reconfiguration to another conversion structure is proposed. Simulations results are presented at the end of this paper to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
