Wide-Angle Scanning Phased Array Based on a Microstrip Magnetic Dipole for K Band Radar Systems

The reflection coefficient is lower than -10 dB within the frequency range from 23.8 to 24.3 GHz, which covers the 24.05-24.25 GHz ISM band. The half-power beamwidth of the single element is about 150° in the E-plane and 50° in the H-plane, which has a good potential for wide angle scanning phased array. The simulated results show that the main beam can scan from -60° to 60° with 3 dB gain fluctuation in the E-plane. The proposed array can be used to improve the detection performance of K band radar systems.
