Dual-Polarized and Multi-Beam Cross-Mesh Array Antenna for RF Energy Harvesting Applications

A cross-mesh array antenna is presented for RF power harvesting in this paper. To enhance the reliability of harvester, producing multiple polarizations and multiple beams is an effective method in rectenna designs. Benefited from the ability of tilting beam angle of cross-mesh array antenna, four differently tilted beams with two linear polarizations can be simply generated by four isolated feed points without any beamforming network design. To demonstrate it, a prototype operating around 6 GHz is fabricated and measured.
