Loss Contributions in V-band Substrate Integrated Waveguides

The loss contributions are estimated at V-band (60GHz) for the components of Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) as a function of copper plane and via roughness, substrate thickness, and frequency. This can be done only by simulation and very careful and precise application of CST is used. Knowing these loss contributions paves the way for better informed SIW design, including configuration and materials usage.
