Characteristics of a Monopole Antenna in the Vicinity of a Grounded Cylindrical Stratified Media

In this work, a monopole antenna radiating near a grounded cylindrical stratified media is characterized. The impact of a single conducting cylinder and a dielectric coated conducting cylinder on the performance of the monopole is investigated. An impedance bandwidth of 41.53% is achieved for a monopole radiating in the presence of a coated cylindrical conductor. The optimized result obtained through simulations is compared using the full-wave Green's function approach.
