Forward Scattering Based Approach for Remote Impedance Measurement of Antenna

A forward-scattering technique for probeless antenna measurement is presented and demonstrated for a slot element in a large ground plane. The 3-port impedance model representing the probing antennas and antenna under test, and the formulation for the probe-less characterization, are included. Simulations are used to validate the approach. We compare the simulated input impedance of isolated slot antenna (in the absence of probing antennas) with the impedance using remote dipole probing antennas. The agreement is good.
