Compact Dual Polarization 4×4 MIMO Multi-Beam Base Station Antennas

This paper presents the design and implementation of compact dual polarized MIMO multi-beam base station antennas. By reducing both the azimuth/elevation spacings and row number of the antenna array, the sizes of the multi-beam antennas are reduced significantly. Through stacking two multibeam antennas vertically, two 4×4 MIMO 6-beam antennas with different specifications are designed and tested. Detailed array architecture and the corresponding measured results are presented.
