Analyzing Practical Issues in SAR Measurements of Multiple-Antenna Transmitting Devices

Multiple-antenna devices are expected to playa key role in 5G wireless communications. To ensure such devices complied with safety regulations and standards, determining the maximum SAR is essential and unavoidable. In our previous works, we introduced a fast estimation technique to evaluate the maximum SAR of such devices. This paper will analyze some practical issues, which might influence on the evaluation of maximum SAR of multiple-antenna devices. Important issues include incorrect phase setting, imprecise probe re-positioning, choosing “area scans”, and simplified estimation assumptions.
