1-bit, 2-bit Polarization Insensitive Reflection Programable Metasurface

This paper proposed a 1-bit and 2-bit polarization insensitive reflection programmable metasurface based on pin diode. The metasurface consists of single substrate layer and symmetric structure. The pin diodes are positioned between the split gaps and biasd through the metal vias. For the 1-bit type, the reflection phase responses are 45° and -135° corresponding to “0” and “1”, respectively. For the 2-bit type, the reflection phase responses are 90°, 0°, -90°, and 180°, corresponding to four digital elements “00”, “01”, “10”, and “11” respectively.
