Overview of Hybrid Solver in HFSS

This paper presents an overview of the hybrid solver in ANSYS HFSS for electrically large radiation and scattering problems. In HFSS v12, a domain decomposition solver was adopted to serve as an effective and parallelizable finite element preconditioner. Since then the framework has been extensively and systematically extended to incorporate multiple numerical solvers into a powerful hybrid solver. These technologies are illustrated via numerical simulations of some real-life problems.
