Assessing the Readability of Literary Texts in Vietnamese Textbooks

Text readability has a huge impact on the reading ability and fully understand the text. Studies on the difficulty of the text have long been concerned in English and some other popular languages. In Vietnamese, there are very few studies on the degree of difficulty of the text, and most of them have been done more than three decades ago. This paper presents a new method for assessing the Readability of Literary Texts in Vietnamese Textbooks based on some specific features of Vietnamese language. The experimental results show that proposed method remarkably improves the accuracy of the assessing.
