Development of Energy Management Strategy Using Driving Information for Parallel Mild HEV

Although the HEV systems are same, the fuel economy performance can be different considerably according to how to control the power sources such as engine and motor. So, development of energy management strategy for HEV system is important to enhance the efficiency for the system. Many strategies have weakness that they have adequate solution when driving cycle is only fixed. In this study, the target vehicle is parallel mild hybrid electric vehicle and this study is based on equivalent consumption minimization strategy (ECMS) and proposes equivalent factor to update every steps using driving information adaptively. Driving information means classification for driving based on speed prediction every steps. The equivalent factor map calculated in advance is applied and its application is compared with reference which has a constant factor when the driving cycle is known perfectly. Results for update using driving information are more similar to reference than improper condition in terms of energy management.
