Integration of In-Situ, Laboratory and Computer Models for Coastal Risk Assessment, Planning and Development

Using data from a coastal site on Oahu, we analyze hazards and risks to support long-term understanding, planning and decision-making regarding infrastructure, hazard mitigation, and adaptation strategies for reducing risks from sea level rise, storms, erosion, and flooding. Integration of different approaches help in validating data sources and provide benefits not available if the tools were used in isolation. After covering the different approaches and methods, the implications for risk assessment and adaptation planning are described.
