Research of Performance of Alternative Energy Sources in High North Condition

Investigation of work of solar power plant in the conditions of High North was performed. Temporary characteristics of power and current generated by photovoltaic elements under various weather conditions and application of active loading are investigated. Pilot studies have shown that even at negative temperatures during the cold period of year solar panels can provide parameters close to nominal. Wind frequency was analyzed in the Arkhangelsk region on the example of the settlement located on the coast of the White Sea showing expediency of use of wind energy installations. Connection of wind solar energy system to the power grid of laboratory of the university was done as the power supply of experimental laboratory equipment and lighting of the room. Economic efficiency of the installation of the wind and solar power plant integrated with power grid taking into account the obtained theoretical and experimental data is calculated.
