Study of the Temperature State of the T-100-130 Steam Turbine High-Pressure Cylinder by Experimental and Theoretical Methods

The results of experimental and theoretical studies of the T-100-130 steam turbine high-pressure cylinder (HPC) in the starting mode are considered. Based on the experimental data on the temperature of the outer surface of the metal wall of the shell, using the approximate analytical solution of the heat conduction problem for a two-layer turbine wall (thermal insulation - turbine body), the heat transfer coefficients on the inner surface of the wall (the vapor side) were found by solving the inverse heat conduction problem. The heat transfer coefficients obtained this way were used to determine the temperature condition of the turbine HPC by the wall thickness and thermal insulation in various sections of the body. Using the results of calculations of the turbine HPC body temperature condition by the finite element method, the temperature stresses in the longitudinal section of the body were found. Their analysis allows concluding that the magnitude of the temperature stresses does not exceed the tensile strength limit for a given material. In this case, the stresses arising from the vapor pressure forces and from the non-uniformity of the temperature distribution in the circumferential direction were not taken into account.
