Possibilities of the Application of Solar Powered Security Systems at the Universities of Subotica, Serbia

The security of the universities has an outstanding importance, both in Serbia and in any foreign country. In order, however, for the students to feel themselves in safety in the institutions of education, the application of modern school-security systems is imperative. The application of solar powered security systems at the universities in Serbia is still considered a novelty these days. It is expedient to constitute a security system by which low energy consumption and the reaching of the optimal level of security is an important aspect.Thanks to the rapid development of computer science in the 21st century, the solar-powered camera systems and alarm grids came within reach, thus their procurement should not cause a serious financial burden. The aim of the present research is to examine what types of solar powered security systems are available to the universities in Serbia if the educational institutions would choose to procure them. Furthermore, there is an imperative to examine if it is possible to expand these systems with the existing security system elements, or rather, what further security service may these new systems provide compared to the traditional ones.Energy efficiency is starting to be an ever-increasingly important aspect in these days. The universities need to show an example to their students from the aspect of energy efficiency, or rather of conscious energy consumption. It is, by all means, an advantage if this could be reached while the students feel themselves in total security within the walls of their institution of education.
