Design of Operation Reserve Classification System for China Under New Circumstances

The increase of renewable energy generation and the development of UHV AC and DC transmission lead to a significant change in operating reserve from its composition structure to configuration requirement. The traditional reserve classification method for China has been difficult to adapt to the reserve demand under the new circumstances. Based on the traditional reserve classification structure, this paper analyzes the design idea of reserve classification system for China under the new circumstances, puts forward the new reserve types which need to be supplemented, integrates the classification structure on both sides of reserve supply and demand, and constructs a complete reserve classification system. Combined with theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, the rationality of the reserve types supplemented in the system is verified.
