The Impact of Technological limitations on The Performances of Metamaterial Transmission Lines

In this study, two main types of metamaterial transmission lines are implemented with lumped components and the electrical parameters are analyzed. The transmission lines have been proposed by the authors several years ago and they are used in designing improved microwave devices. This paper presents a study regarding how available components for the lumped elements affect the behavior in frequency of the transmission lines and solutions to get as closely as possible to the ideal model. The solution obtained is validated both by simulation and measurement. The study is useful for further applications which use this type of metamaterial transmission lines.
