Automatic battery charging system for electric powered drones

In order to increase the autonomy of the missions performed with the help of the electrically powered drones, two innovative, complex battery loading solutions were designed and built within the framework of the research, using special platforms in the form of mobile PADs. These solutions follow loading procedures implemented on the drones using different methods: direct contact loading between battery terminals and the PAD power supply system and wireless contactless charging using special kits made up of split induction coils in two synchronized groups. The first one who will be the emitter, located on the PAD and the second one, the receiver, mounted on the drone landing gear. The tested solutions will make an autonomous battery charging process by eliminating the need for a human operator, monitoring and controlling the battery charging process and effectively managing the flight assignment.
