Design of High Efficiency Multiband Rectenna for RF Energy Harvesting

This research paper presents a highly efficient and miniaturized rectenna for RF (radio frequency) energy Harvesting due to the use of voltage doubler technique. Multiband monopole receiving antenna is designed for the purpose of high gain and omnidirectional radiation pattern. Due to the omnidirectional property it will capture more power. This antenna is designed for the downlink frequency of GSM, LTE and WiFi bands. Special types of voltage doubler rectifying circuits are used for each frequency band to get more power at the output. To transfer maximum voltage from antenna to rectifying circuit radial stub matching networks are used. Both antenna and rectifier are designed on one FR-4 substrate. A maximum of 85% conversion efficiency is achieved in the proposed work.
