Spiral Spring Shaped Cantilever Magnetic Energy Harvesters for IOT

Adorable energy sources for providing wireless sensor nodes (WSN) are ambient mechanical vibrations in the forthcoming internet of things (IOTs). Mechanical vibrations induced due to Electro-magnetic effect in MEMS electromagnetic vibration energy harvester (EM-VEH) model are scrutably demonstrated. Labyrinthine shaped silicon made spring (modeled with sixteen cantilever beams), copper made micro sized coil and two tiny squared shaped NdFeB magnets have been used in preparing EM-VEH. Numerical simulation and finite element analysis (FEA) tool depicts significant transformation in acquiring potential energy. Admitted profiles owing to control changes potential energy generated due to repulsion force between transducing and tuning magnets, and it efficaciously modifies frequency response profile. Better outcomes of the frequency response profiles can be produced on the basis of EM-VEH. In this work the displacement profile, volumetric strain profile, acceleration and surface current profile of the EM-VEHs have been demonstrated by changing the width of the silicon spring cantilevers.
