Reducing Ripple in Wind Power Systems: A Hybrid Method Formed Using Two Power Controllers

A direct power control (DPC) scheme for doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) wind energy systems is a simple control structure and has fast dynamic response in comparison with other well-developed control approaches, such as field-oriented control (FOC). The simplicity of this method comes from employing hysteresis-based controllers (HBCs) for the stator active and reactive power. However, the controller is nonlinear, and the converter has a nonconstant switching frequency.
