Research on the Voltage Regulation Strategy of Photovoltaic Power Plant

Photovoltaic (PV) is an effective method to address the environmental issues and energy problems. However, with the increasing of PV penetration, it poses a greater influence on the stability of power grid. In this paper, the issue of voltage stability caused by PV power plants is studied. Firstly, the power losses of collecting power lines and the voltage sensitivity of reactive power units in PV power plant are analyzed, which determines the optimization strategy of reactive power distribution. Then, a control strategy for PV power plants to participate in the voltage regulation of power grid is proposed based on the droop curve of reactive power unit. Finally, the simulation model of PV power station is built in Matlab/Simunlink, and simulation results demonstrate the validity and effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
