Research on IGBTs-Based Superconducting DC Current Limiter

This thesis presents a new type topology structure of superconducting solid fault current limiter (SSFCL). A group of academic researches on the new type topology structure of SSFCL are briefly performed. First, this paper reasonably analyses the hysteresis control mode of SSFCL and determines the superiority of its application. Then, the mathematical simulation model of SSFCL is built and the reliability of SSFCL is verified by simulation. By comparing the simulation results of SSFCL, solid fault current limiter, and superconducting fault current limiter, the conclusion can be drawn that the SSFCL is more stable and more effective on controlling the increase rising rate of a short-circuit current.
