The Design of Fixed Bird-Repellent Fitting for Eliminating Bird Damage in Substations

Birds pose a considerable threat to the safe operation of substations. A bird's nest is often found on the frame of the substation. In this case, failure may occur at any time due to bird damage if no effective measures are taken in time. In order to solve the problem of perplexing bird damage in substations for a long time, this paper develops a new type of bird-repellent fitting that contains two parts: trapezoid metal plate and u-shape support fitting. By installing new type bird-repellent fitting at the nests in the frame, it is nearly impossible for birds to build nests, thus, bird damage is controlled.
