Research on Multi-Time Scale Order Reduction of Photovoltaic System

With the increasing number of photovoltaic systems connected to the grid, the entire power system faces the fact that the system model is increasingly complex and difficult to calculate and analyze. For this problem, we presented an improved method for constructing the simplified model of a photovoltaic system based on singular perturbation theory. The multi-time scale characteristics of photovoltaic system were divided, then the model was reduced by neglecting fast dynamics. A zeroth and a first improvement were obtained by adding correction terms. Time-domain simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method has the advantages of faster calculation speed and higher accuracy. In summary, the proposed method is effective and applicable to simplify the PV systems.
