Influence of the Material Parameters on the Electric Field Intensity Distribution of 10kV Cable Elbow Connector

Cable elbow connector is an important part of cable, but the cable elbow connector breakdown accidents often cause a great impact on the power system due to inadequate design, poor handicraft, insulation aging and environmental reasons. In order to find and overcome the shortcomings of cable elbow connector design, an axisymmetric model is established, and the electric field intensity distribution is simulated with finite element method. The relationship between the electric field intensity distribution and the material parameters is obtained by changing the electrical conductivity and relative permittivity of the material parameters and comparing the variation of the electric field intensity distribution. This paper analyzes the electric field intensity distribution of the cable elbow connector from two aspects of material and puts forward some corresponding optimization suggestion, which has a strong guidance and reference for improving the reliability of the cable elbow connector.
