A Novel On-Line System for Monitoring the Oil Level of Capsule-Type Storage Tank of Power Transformer

The oil level of the power transformer's oil storage tank is an important operation parameter. The oil level sensor based on magnetic resistance circuit and its hardware structure are designed. Based on the communication and monitoring technology of electric Internet of things, an on-line monitoring and control system is developed to realize remote measurement of the oil level. The control and operation personnel can obtain the real-time oil level value in the SCADA system, which improves the operational reliability and reduces the workload of personnel. Once the oil level is too high, too low or descending rapidly, the system will send alarm signals in time to the control and operation personnel to facilitate the timely response and take measures to reduce the probability of failure, which could ensure the safe and stable operation of equipment and power grid.
