Electric Demand Evaluation Method for Central Asian Countries Considering Spatio-temporal Variations of the Urban Light

The cross-border interconnection between the power system of Xinjiang regional in China and those of the five Central Asian countries provides a platform for an initial realization of the global energy interconnection. In this paper, first, the history of the power system interconnections in Central Asia is reviewed. Second, the possibility of the interconnection between Xinjiang power system with the those of Central Asia is discussed. In the end of the paper, using DMSP stable lights database, the spatio-temporal model dataset of big cities light tree is established, and the power demand of five Central Asian countries and Xinjiang city is evaluated. The example shows that the result of the proposed method is better than the traditional regression method that simply based on the change of the total power demand.
