Update on the Empower a Billion Lives Initiative [Entrepreneur Viewpoint]

Discusses the mission and scope of the IEEE Power Electronics Society's EBL - Empower a Billion Lives. This is a recurring biennial global competition to crowdsource innovation and the development or demonstration of new regionally relevant, holistic, scalable, and economically viable ways to address the problem of energy poverty. EBL is expected to leverage 21st-century technologies that are exponentially declining in price and have been adopted rapidly around the world.
