Design of Intelligent Control Nodes with Integration to an Energy Management System

The incorporation of IoT devices in traditional Energy Management Systems in Buildings (EnMS) arises from a natural evolution of new information technologies. A control node based on the IoT concept using SoC ESP8266 is designed to take advantage of the existing WiFi infrastructure in the building of the Santa Fe Regional Faculty of the National Technological University and join its EnMS. The nodes control the loads of 14 classrooms, presenting as main advantage an energy saving of 30% with low cost devices and easy implementation.
