A new concept for Italian dispatching market: decision 300/2017

The paradigm of the electricity system is changing: the growth of renewable production along with the development of demand response and storage devices is posing new issues to be deal with. The ancillary service market needs to be adapted to the new concept. This paper focus on the changes that are being applied to the Italian electricity market, describing in detail the opening of the MSD to new resources, launched by the Italian Regulatory Authority with Order 300/2017/R/eel.
