Automatic Switch Company: Alive and Well [History]

For more than a century, the Automatic Switch Company (ASCO), now ASCO Power Technologies (Figure 1), provided emergency and standby power equipment to a wide range of industries. Best known for its innovative and robust transfer switches, ASCO Power also developed industry-leading solutions for power control switchgear and other equipment used in mission-critical applications. This article summarizes ASCO Power's history of innovation and its continuing influence on the industries it serves.
