Performance Improvement of Liquid-Type Solar Heat Collection System

In order to maximize the performance of a solar heating system, it is necessary to examine the changes in thermal characteristics of the entire building by applying the technology. In this study, a simulation model of a liquid solar system is developed, and the effect of the improved system is examined by an annual simulation. Based on the simulation results, the improvement effects and necessity of the solar heating system are shown. Under this study condition, the load of annual heating and hot water was reduced by approximately 35.9% compared with general housing without solar heat collection by using an existing liquid-type solar heat collecting system. Furthermore, by changing the collector of the existing liquid-type solar heat collecting system from a flat-plate-type collector to a vacuum-tube-type collector and by changing the capacity of the hot water storage tank to 1500 L, the annual load was reduced by approximately 16.7%.
