MDPSO Based Q-PQV Bus Pair Technique-A Novel Method to Maintain the Voltage of Remotely Located Buses with Renewable DGs

This paper proposes a modified load flow method with a novel Q-PQV bus pair technique to maintain the voltage of remotely located bus at a desired level in the presence of solar and biomass DGs. The active power loss is considered as the objective function while fulfilling the technical constraints. The Mixed Discrete Particle Swarm Optimization (MDPSO) technique is applied to find out the optimal locations and sizes of the DGs with the optimal reconfiguration of the distribution network (DistNet), The hourly variation of load levels and time of use (TOU) energy tariff for the upstream grid is also considered in this paper. The proposed method is validated on a 69 bus DistNet. The cost-benefit analysis shows the effectiveness of the proposed Q-PQV bus pair technique from the economic point of view.
