Development of K Band FMCW Radar Signal Source

This paper introduces a PLL-based FM CW radar signal source design. First, the composition of the phase locked loop is introduced, the corresponding circuit design is given, then the corresponding mathematical model is set up. Finally, two important loop parameters are analyzed: phase noise and spurs, and a method of suppressing spurs is given. The test results show that the phase noise of the system is better than -100dBc / Hz @ 100KHz at 24GHz ~ 24.12GHz, the spurious suppression is better than -86dBc and the output power is more than 8dBm, the feasibility of this scheme is verified.
