Simplifying Client Side Server Communication on Android

Smart phones have become extremely popular in recent years. Many developers have started designing for mobile phones because of the demand for native applications that provide the user with the desired experience, often requiring communication with a server. Libraries native to Android facilitate this process but fail to address the need for a simple API for a developer performing standard tasks. We developed a library for the Android platform that makes the process of communicating with a server simpler. Our results show that the library made the code more readable, required few lines of code than the standard Android implementation, and was less complex. We report on the results of our library by comparing Android's standard implementation against our library.
